Vineyards

Placed in Alicante at 600 m high in sandy quaternary soils with a clay subsoil

Harvest

Manual picking of the grapes in 200 kg. boxes. Sorting of bunches and berries. Average yield of 4.000 kg/hectare.

Vintage

Ageing for 4 months in French oak barrel of 500 litres.

Climatological Year 2014

The 2014 vintage started with heavy rainfall in the months of October and November followed by a dry winter and low temperatures. In spring, as usual, temperatures increased, which favored the vegetative cycle and a perfect sprouting and setting of the fruit. Summer with high temperatures, where we get to reach 36 ° C. Rainfall in the first days of September favored the ripening of the crop. The harvest began in late September, as usual, with optimum fruit quality.

Winemaking

Vinification in open top vats with cold maceration during 48 hours and fermentation during 12-14 days with two “pisages” a day and a small pumping over. Ageing for 4 months in French oak barrel of 500 litres.

Optimum consumption

Now or within the next three or four years.

Viticulture

Maximum respect to the environment, lack of pests or herbicides. Organic viticulture.
